Heather Bruckman is a neonatal nurse practitioner who helps transport babies from hospitals around Indiana to Riley Children’s Health via chopper or ambulance. She’s part of the IU Health LifeLife team. The neonatal transport team is made up of a nurse practitioner, a pediatric critical care nurse, a respiratory therapist, an EMT and/or a pilot. Heather and her colleagues are able to essentially operate a mobile intensive care unit either by ground or by air. They are able to provide any kind of
